BIO
I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I moved to the U.S. to attend college at the University of Florida, where I completed a BFA in photography (2000), followed by an MFA in Digital Media (2003). While working on the MFA, I opened a commercial imaging production studio in Gainesville, FL to service advertising clients, local businesses, and individuals. In parallel to the commercial work, I developed an extensive fine art exhibition record. The studio was very successful, but as it blossomed I grew increasingly interested in academia.
In 2010 I enrolled in the Ph.D. program in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida, my dissertation explored the effects of technology on the advertising creative process. I currently teach Visual Communication at the University of South Carolina as a tenure-track assistant professor. |
