Associate Professor of Visual Communications
University of South Carolina |
I study the influence of technology on the creative process and on teaching creativity — most recently focusing on AI. I believe that understanding the creative process is the first step toward creative confidence in problem-solving — an essential life skill. My work has been published across disciplines and has expanded beyond academic venues.
With a background rooted in advertising, entrepreneurship and arts, my creative activities complement my research and teaching. I am often invited to work with researchers from other disciplines that need the unique combination of someone who is both a visual artist and a researcher, well versed in both worlds. I hold certifications in Workshop Facilitation (Design Thinking) and in UX Research. I led the development of the Data Analytics and Communication program at the College of Information and Communications ay USC and am also the chair of the Visual Communications sequence. My administrative work is geared towards curricular innovation. I am Brazilian and multicultural. |
