Associate Professor of Visual Communications
University of South Carolina |
I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I moved to the U.S. to attend college at the University of Florida, where I completed a BFA in photography (2000), followed by an MFA in Digital Media (2003). While working on the MFA, I opened a commercial production studio in Gainesville, FL to service advertising clients, small businesses, and individuals. The studio was very successful, but as it blossomed I grew increasingly interested in academia.
In 2010 I enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the University of Florida, my dissertation explored the effects of technology on the advertising creative process. I continue to research creativity from pedagogical, cultural, and leadership perspectives. I am also still practicing creative activities within film and photography. |
ResearchI have been researcher for the past 12 years with a focus on qualitative methodologies. I am often invited to work with researchers from other fields that need the unique combination of someone who is both a visual artist and a researcher, well versed in both worlds. I work well in collaborative environments. Learn more about my research here.
